Working with Natural Isolates - Online

Postponed

Duration: 8 weeks

Cost: £295 (UK price)

This is not a course for beginners; if you don’t have perfumery experience and need to learn the basics, we recommend that you first study our Introduction to Natural Perfumery Course.

Modules

Includes 3 online group tutorials and a Certificate on completion.

  • What are natural isolates and how are they different from other perfume materials?

  • Learn about the various methods used to extract natural isolates from essential oils and absolutes, and how chemical processes can also be used to create natural molecules.

  • There are many natural isolates to chose from, but many of them won’t be very useful to you. We’ll help you decide which ones you should invest in first.

  • Learn to use natural isolates as part of your perfume design process, and to integrate them into your existing accords and perfumes.

List of natural isolates studied: ambrettolide, anisaldehyde, anisyl alcohol, benzyl acetate, benzyl benzoate, beta-caryophyllene, cinnamic alcohol, cis-3 hexenol, cis-3 hexenyl acetate, cis-3 hexenyl caproate, citronellol, gamma-nonalactone (aldehyde C-18), gamma-undecalactone (aldehyde C-14), geraniol, geranyl acetate, ionones, isoamyl acetate, linalool, linalyl acetate, maltol, melonal, methyl anthranilate, nerol, neryl acetate, nerolidol, olibanol, phenylethyl alcohol, rhodinol, vanillin.

  • Three live tutorials via Zoom on Mondays 9th February, 2nd and 23rd March from 19:00 to 20:00 hours (UK time).

All tutorials will be recorded and available to watch until 31st August 2026.
